About the Editor

Children’s books are Laura Boffa’s specialty! Laura has a dual Masters in Children’s Literature and Elementary Education from Simmons University as well as over three years experience editing early readers through YA novels. Laura has also worked in education for the past decade, from preschool to middle school, traditional classrooms to alternative and art-centric programs. She loves helping authors make their stories strong, their voices ring true, and their characters speak to children in a way that keeps them coming back.

When she is not editing, writing, or teaching, Laura loves playing the fiddle, trying new foods, or exploring the hills of India, where she is currently a volunteer.

Children’s Book Editor – Brooke Vitale

Edited – Ghost Text for Brave Brothers Books

About the Editor

Brooke

Brooke Vitale is a children’s book editor with 15+ years of experience in picture books, middle grade fiction, and nonfiction for companies such as Sterling, Penguin, and Disney. There is nothing Brooke loves more than diving into a manuscript and helping to pull out all its potential. She believes in brutal honesty because too often it is hard for authors to see where a story is not being true to itself.

During her time at Disney, she edited over 800 books. Among her favorites (and most successful) were Hide and Hug Olaf, by Kevin Lewis, which sold over 400,000 copies and Olaf’s Night Before Christmas, which sold over 250,000 copies.
