We receive many questions about publishing books with us. Before emailing or sending us a message on social media, watch the video, AND read our responses to the FAQs below.
Is this a vanity publisher?
We are NOT a vanity publisher. Vanity publishers have limited or no criteria for the books they publish. Their goal is to make money from the act of putting writing into book format. These publishers are typically not concerned with making profits from book sales but are more focused on making money by charging the authors to pay for the book creation process. We do not charge authors any fees to create their books.
I have a story idea. Can we talk to discuss it?
No. We have a submissions process where we ONLY take completed manuscripts.
Which genres do you accept?
We accept most genres except erotica and children’s books with talking animals as all or the majority of characters.
What is your acceptance rate?
As of March 31, 2019, the date we were founded, we have only accepted 29% of the manuscripts we received. This means we have rejected 71% of the manuscripts we received.
Are you connected to Kirk Cameron’s Company?
No. We existed before his company. There is a bookstore with a similar name, and we are not affiliated with them either.
If my manuscript is selected, how long does it take to publish my book?
It takes roughly two years.
How much do authors earn from book sales?
Authors earn 40% profit for every book sale.
Do you ever close submissions?
Yes. We close submissions from the start of summer until the start of fall.
Where are your books distributed or located?
Our books are distributed globally online (Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million, etc), in libraries, in physical bookstores, and in education learning management platforms.
Can I schedule a meeting to talk on the phone or video chat?
No. We do not talk on the phone or schedule meetings with people who are not our authors. We do respond to emails. Please send questions to connect@bravebrothersbooks.com, if the video above and the FAQs have not addressed all of your questions.
